About the Author
Susan Shumsky, DD, is the author of Exploring Auras, How to Hear the Voice of God, Exploring Chakras, and other well-known titles. She appears regularly in the media and has been featured in Woman s World, Cosmopolitan, and GQ. Dr. Shumsky has practiced self-development disciplines for more than 40 years. For 22 years she was the student and personal assistant to the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Transcendental Meditation and guru of the Beatles. She then studied New Thought and metaphysics for another 20 years. Dr. Shumsky has taught thousands worldwide to meditate, develop their intuition, and attain self-realization and enlightenment.

Enjoyable, but missing something.
In this latest work, Dr. Shumsky provides us with a plentitude of information regarding ascension, ascended masters, visitations by ascended masters, various definitions of ascension and bodily incorruptibility and finally, in the second to last chapter we are given a meditation that is ostensibly designed to help us ascend right here, right now; as the book often attempts to inculcate to it's readers that it is in fact possible to do so. Although I have no argument with the authors premise in principle (i.e. that we can ascend any time we choose), I do contend that it is not as easy as she propounds. I have not ascended, in fact I've only taken the very beginning steps on my path. That said: I have read thousands and thousands of pages from spiritual works by masters that I trust implicitly; and one of the common themes promoted among those spiritually wise men and women is that it takes time, dedication and patience to unlearn what a lifetime (or maybe hundreds of lifetimes) have taught us - that there is a thing called separation, that our own ego and/or our body is "us", that God is not on our side, etc., etc. etc.

Although I found this book energizing and enjoyable, it smacks of typical 21st century mentality, that is: instant fulfillment. I may be wrong, it certainly has happened countless times before (no seriously!) but I don't think ascension or enlightenment works quite that way. I'll go so far as to say that perhaps ascension does happen in the blink of an eye, but the process leading up to it, may take considerably longer, perhaps lifetimes! Thus, I give four stars for the efforts and rendering of the material, but only 1 star for the assertions (or at least the main assertion.) Three stars all the way `round.

Ascension, Enlightenment and Salvation

Another great book By Susan Shumsky. Her talent at collecting relevant information and knowledge and organizing it simple terms is proven again in this latest writing. For those of you who enjoy giving your 'child within' a encouraging boost,.. read this book. Ascension is decribed as within the reach of us all. The meditation and spiritual practises of many well known and some not so well known masters are also described. So, you can test this for yourself. If the world has choked some of your faith, this will help fan the flame again. As you read of others who have found the Truth that has set them free. Even if you do not believe in total ascension for every person or yourself it does show that even normal people can attain the various levels of getting closer to God. These inspiring life histories can make real what many consider only a fantasy world. Beings of Light guiding our planet and living in this world. Not just in Heaven, away from the mess of the world, but right here. In each of our hearts and minds.

I Could Not Put it Down.
This is the most stunning, awesome book about Ascension I have ever read. The book is fascinating. I could not put it down. The stories are fantastic and incredibly inspiring. Who knew that people of today live as ascended masters?

I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks they know what "ascension" or "avatars" are, because they likely don't have a clue. Shumsky knows, and she shares this information so beautifully and meaningfully with us. She has been practicing spirituality and meditation for well over 40 years, studying over 22 years in an ashram with famous Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, guru of the Beatles and Deepak Chopra, and founder of Transcendental Meditation. She was on Maharishi's personal staff for 7 years. She is a pioneer in this field, and she knows how to make this deeply arcane subject understandable for the rest of us.
